"Education is a natural process carried out by the human individual, and is acquired not by listening to words, but by experiences in the environment.” --- Maria Montessori

Visit Our Campus

One year ago, Star Valley leased a 1 acre site in Cotati near Sonoma State University.
The main building houses three classrooms, a rehearsal hall and a science/art studio. We have two outdoor covered classrooms, playground, an outdoor stage, shady picnic area and a large field.

We have a private parking lot and additional parking is available in the back lot for festivals and theatre performances. There is room for expansion and space for portable classrooms to be added as needed.

Botanical studies are a main focus in the Academy Science Program.  The campus gardens reflect the tranquility of earlier times when children were thought to be morally enriched through the appreciation of botany.

This year the children will be tending to the following gardens:

The Royal Society Scientific Garden
• Exploratory Garden
• Shakespeare’s Garden

• The Quiet Garden

It is our vision that our school will continue to grow and eventually serve 60 students and their families.  We will continue the tradition of hosting many family events and remain committed to providing valuable community service to others.  Currently our students bring performances to the elderly and read to local pre-schoolers,

Star Valley operates on a year round schedule. Admission can be anytime during the year as space permits. The school is in session 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. daily. We offer after school programs and care.

Visits are by appointment only. There are several open houses during the year. You may also attend community meetings and meet parents and teachers currently involved with our school.
