"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything."

Music

Music fills our classrooms every day. We blend music into every subject and bring lessons to life.

We learn about the great composers by listening to recordings and absorbing literature, history and geography directly related to the individuals.
Students learn new vocabulary; write reports, poems and plays. They create art and make music.

Children learn how to identify and appreciate musical instruments through sight and sound. We listen, sing and dance to music and songs from all around the world.

Our music director is on campus every week. All students keep a music notebook with their lessons. Kindergarten through 3rd grade learn how to play the recorder and may begin piano lessons when ready. The fourth grade and up begin to develop an understanding of music composition and may choose an instrument from the director’s list.
