"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood."

Kindergarten

Welcome to the Kindergarten

Orientation Week

Aug. 31 - Sept. 4

First day of classes - Sept. 8

Kindergarten is all about making new discoveries and meeting new friends. The kindergarten child needs movement and space. Therefore, our program offers plenty of hands-on physical activities and frequent changes of pace. The educational materials have been carefully selected to help develop the thought process. Our students will begin their academic journey. One path will lead to reading – another path will take your child towards writing – and yet another path will take them to the awesome world of math.

During the month of September our students will construct a space shuttle and blast off into space. We’re hoping the children will take the teachers along! Once in space we’ll take a quick look around and then concentrate our sight upon the beautiful planet Earth.

Hopefully, we’ll know what buttons to push because we want to land on the continent of Africa. Once there, we will begin a fascinating study of the second largest continent on the planet Earth.
Of course, while we are busy being explorers, we will also take time for the following:

  • Back to school night
(Grandparents will be the guests of honor)
  • Celebrate the International Day of Peace
(Star Valley peace talks will be in order)
  • Talk like a Pirate Day!
(“Arr, matey, it be a fine day.”)
  • Johnny Appleseed Celebration
    (Let’s make applesauce)
  • S.F. Zoo Field Trip
  • Celebrate the arrival of autumn

You will receive your September Newsletter on Orientation Day. See you soon-
