“Where every child is known as gifted and every school day is filled with promise” -Star Valley

Welcome to Star Valley

Welcome Image

Starting in the 2010 - 2011 School year, Star Valley will operate under new ownership; resulting in a name change that will clearly reflect our mission and philosophy.

Our empowered leadership group has worked this past year with focus and persistence in creating a program that ensures all children can succeed.  Their knowledge, expertise and dedication has helped us achieve the goals of our parents in providing an alternative means of education.

The checks and balances that have been put into action ensure accountability for everyone involved in the learning process.  It has increased our organizational effectiveness and raised student achievement.

The result is a promising curriculum and system of education that supports concept-based instruction in a standards based environment.  Our refreshing approach to meeting these standards involves hands-on authentic methods that engage the student in experiential learning.

Exciting times are ahead for our school.  Educational freedom will still be promoted, valued and encouraged.  Prospective clients may attend our public board meetings.  This is a great way to understand our vision and school values.  Visitor forms must be completed in advance of attendance.

Tours begin in June 2010 alongside the launch of our new website.  Check back for more information and links.

Currently accepting K through 4th Grade.

We can't wait to welcome your child into our growing family.

We are a small progressive school that fosters educational freedom while providing a challenging academic and artistic curriculum.  This freedom encourages self-discipline and responsibility that will remain with each child beyond their school years.

Our parents often remark about the positive changes they see in their children after entering the school.  The child's motivation and natural desire to learn blossoms as they begin meaningful work with purpose.

Going to school at Star Valley is a “small town” experience.  Teachers, students and parents all contribute to a community that focuses on life-long learning, physical well being, social responsibility and the pursuit of happiness.

The children come to work each school day with their community of friends ready to learn and play.  They learn that success comes from desire and dedication.  The agendas and timetables will be different for each child; sometimes they will be the same.  There are individual goals, group projects and moments to reflect.  Star Valley students concentrate on how to apply their knowledge in real life situations.

The teachers provide the necessary tools for academic achievement, creative expression and successful social interactions.  This includes using outside resources and mentors to enhance the educational experience.  The Storybook Theatre, Da Vinci Art Club and the Chess Connection is open to the public after school.  The students are able to interact and form bonds with other children from the surrounding communities.

Most of all, Star Valley encourages the children to reach out and help make the world a better place.  The students are given many opportunities to share their time and abilities in community service.

“Education is not preparation for life, it is life itself."

We invite you to visit Star Valley Academy and see how happy the children are.  They will gladly share their projects and take you for a tour of the schoolhouse, gardens and play yard.  After all, this is their world and they know it well.
